FAQs about Men’s Suspenders with Belt Loops and Other Products

At Suspender Mender, we get a lot of questions about our innovative belt loop suspenders. That is why we have taken the initiative to compile the most common inquiries we’ve answered and share them with our customer base through our online platform. By posting these frequently asked questions, we aim to enlighten people about our product — a men’s suspender with belt loops — so that they can make well-informed decisions about their purchases.

Should I Get an X-Back or Y-Back Suspender?

With our unique brand of belt loop suspenders, you don’t have to choose between one or the other. Our products are designed to allow wearers to quickly switch the style from a Y-back suspender to an X-back suspender and vice versa. However, this feature of our men’s suspenders with belt loops is different from convertible suspenders that change the type of attachments from clip-on to button-on.

What Size of Men’s Suspenders with Belt Loops Should I Order?

Our belt loop suspenders are made to order. It would help if you estimated your suspender dimensions first by looping a piece of string around one of your back belt loops, over your opposite shoulder, and to the top of your middle-front waistband. Then, you should use a tape measure to take note of the length to the nearest inch and email the details to kevin@suspendermender.com.

Our suspender artisan will cut your straps longer than your submitted measurements to allow room for adjustments and our unique attachment. If you prefer the front slide adjusters to be positioned higher on your chest, please let us know so our designer can make the straps even longer.

How Do I Change the Style of the Belt Loop Suspender?

While your purchase will be shipped in the style you ordered, the suspender can still be converted to the other style. Y-back suspender orders come with an extra set of attachment hardware to change it to an X-back style.

Meanwhile, an X-back suspender order can be switched to a Y-back style by removing an attachment and intertwining the resulting bare strap with the end that still had the hardware. This feature is possible because our men’s suspenders with belt loops have slide adjusters sized and matched to the straps to hold securely without any stitching.

Can I Adjust the Placement of the Triangular Back Piece?

Yes. To raise the position of the triangular back piece, tighten the front slide adjusters and loosen the back slide adjuster/s. Do the opposite to lower the placement.
